This weekend was crazy.
On Friday I teased out what I’ve been working on under a code name “blue collar builders.”
Within 48 hours, 207 blue collar builders who use Claude Code reached out wanting help turning their projects into real startups.
it’s wild. There are more blue
Todd Saunders says his ‘blue collar builders’ teaser triggered 207 inbound requests in 48 hours from Claude Code users trying to turn niche-industry tools into real startups. His thesis: AI coding unlocked build capability for domain experts, but infra to scale/acquire/distribute these vertical tools is still missing. He supports it with Broadlume’s pre-AI acquisition pattern (operators in flooring repeatedly building software in-house), and argues AI is now multiplying this across many blue-collar verticals.
Why this may matter for you, Max: this is strong qualitative evidence that coding copilots are creating a new founder cohort (operator-builders), which could feed demand for dev tooling, packaging/distribution, and lightweight commercialization rails.
